The Society for Human Resource Management Appalachian State Chapter (SHRM-ASC)

The Society for Human Resource Management Appalachian State Chapter (SHRM-ASC) is a student-driven and student-led organization dedicated to bridging the gap between academics and modern HR practices. Members gain valuable insights into contemporary HR challenges and expand their professional networks through reputable guest speakers, engaged workshops, and intentional site visits. SHRM-ASC also offers hands-on consulting opportunities with local businesses, allowing committed students to apply their knowledge to real-world business projects, such as developing HR policies and enhancing recruitment strategies, all while incorporating expert guidance from experienced IOHRM faculty advisors.

Beyond professional development, SHRM ASC fosters community engagement and personal growth. Members volunteer with local organizations, participate in collaborative HR consulting projects, and prepare for the SHRM-CP certification through a comprehensive study framework. By joining, students gain access to valuable learning experiences, professional connections, and career-relevant skills while upholding values like ethics, accountability, and innovation.
