Class of 2022 Internship Presentations

On September 10th, the 2nd year IOHRM students had the opportunity to present their internship experiences over the summer to the faculty and the first-year students. Their internships were located across the country, including California, Colorado, Michigan, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and right here in North Carolina.  However, due to restrictions from COVID-19, some of these internships were completed virtually. Some students performed multiple roles within human resources, and were able to develop training programs, create employee resource groups and refine recruitment and selection techniques. Students were able to analyze different organizational outcomes and make recommendations to senior leadership. Other students assisted in DE&I efforts, training and development, health and safety, and compensation, working on initiatives like developing tracking mechanisms to capture training and development programs, assembling data collection systems and centralized databases.  The second years also gave timely advice to the first years as they began their search for internships. Some consistent advice was to be bold, ask questions, demand feedback, and take the opportunity to learn, no matter the location or type of work you have been assigned. We congratulate our second-year students for successfully completing their internships!
