The HR Summit is back, better than ever, and with a new name and logo!

Registration for the 2026 People at Work Summit (formerly the HR Summit) will open on August 1.  

Make plans to register for both the all-day Summit (held in person and live via Zoom on Thursday, October 15, 2026) and the in-person Master Classes (held on the morning of Friday, October 16, 2026)

Individual Registration

People at Work Summit: Thursday, October 15 (early registration ends October 1, 2026)

  • In-person attendance- $175 early registration ($265 regular registration) per attendee, which includes
    • Four conference plenary sessions
    • Two hands-on breakout sessions
    • Continental breakfast, lunch, and morning/afternoon snacks 
    • Conference swag
    • SHRM and/or HRCI continuing education credits
  • Virtual attendance - $90 per attendee, which includes 
    • Four conference plenary sessions
    • Two hands-on breakout sessions
    • SHRM and/or HRCI continuing education credits

Discounts available for small businesses and members of the Boone, Blowing Rock, and Ashe County Chamber of Commerce.

Group Registration

In addition to attending the one-day People at Work Summit, registrants can add a Master Class or 45-day online access to the Summit session recordings to their registration. 

Master Class (in-person only): Friday, October 16 (9am-12pm)- $30

  • Earn three additional SHRM and/or HRCI continuing education credits

45-Day Access to HR Summit Session Recordings- $25

Purchasing 45-day access to recordings of the People at Work Summit sessions will help the IOHRM program provide a valuable, hands-on educational experience for our students at a reduced cost. 

  • Access to the People at Work Summit sessions will be available 2 weeks after the program concludes. 
  • SHRM and HRCI credits are not available for those who only view the People at Work Summit session recordings. 

Individuals who purchase access to the People at Work Summit session recordings will be recognized at the event for supporting our students' education and professional growth.

About the Appalachian People at Work Summit
The Appalachian People at Work Summit is a one-day professional development conference that brings together the industry's top professionals to discuss the latest topics and challenges within the workplace. The People at Work Summit offers an engaging and interactive way to keep up with cutting-edge trends, learn from nationally renowned experts, and earn continuing education credits from both SHRM and HRCI.


The 2026 People at Work Summit will be an in-person and virtual hybrid event with an opportunity for attendees to engage and interact through both modalities. The 2025 Spring and Fall HR Summits were also hybrid in-person and virtual events, with a total of 214 attendees (175 in-person and 39 virtual) from 67 organizations and 32 corporate partners. 

 Proceeds from the People at Work Summit support the Industrial-Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management (IOHRM) master’s program and fund student travel to conferences, applied-project experiences, and resources for program events that enhance the educational experience of the IOHRM graduate students.

 

The IOHRM program offers several types of sponsorship at the Summit


Sponsor a Morning or Afternoon Break (only two partnerships available)

  • $600 donation to IOHRM Professional Foundation
    • Includes one registration to the People at Work Summit with additional attendees from the organization registering at the group rate.
    • Organizations will be acknowledged on the Summit website, in the program, and at the event. 
    • Organizations will also be able to provide swag to attendees (if desired).  
    • Exclusive sponsorship of one pre-conference “meet a Summit speaker” message sent to the People at Work Summit’s listserv by the IOHRM program, which includes over 480 HR professionals.
    • Sponsors will also have the opportunity to speak at the People at Work Summit and highlight their organization, products, and services to practitioners attending the event.
    • Exclusive sponsorship and mention in one post-conference message sent by the IOHRM program to all in-person and virtual attendees.

  • $650 donation to IOHRM Professional Foundation

  • Sponsor an IOHRM Student ($60 each student)
  • One of the objectives of the People at Work Summit is to provide our IOHRM students with a valuable educational experience by allowing them to attend the event at a reduced cost. 
    • Sponsoring one or more of our IOHRM students helps the program provide our students with hands-on educational experiences.
    • IOHRM student sponsors will be acknowledged on the People at Work Summit website, in the program, and at the event.

IOHRM student sponsorship can be done at the time of registration or by contacting the IOHRM program (iohrm@appstate.edu).


Recruit the Next Generation of Talent! 

In addition to reaching business professionals at the People at Work Summit, App State’s IOHRM graduate students will also be in attendance. Sponsorship is a great way to recruit summer interns and attract talent from one of the best graduate programs in the country. Student Sponsorship will help offset costs for the program’s graduate students for attending the conference.
