Students Present Research at ABAI Annual Conference

Second year IOHRM students Maira Compagnone and Matthew Laske traveled to Chicago, IL for the annual conference for the Association of Behavior Analysis International, to present research within the fields of data analysis and occupational safety. Data from a Fortune 500 chemical company was analyzed for the effects of using a designated observer within a behavior-based safety process. It was found that having a dedicated observer does not decrease the frequency of observations by the general population. The dedicated observers do report a higher percentage of “safe” behaviors, reducing the variability within the data and limiting the capabilities of using data analytics for prediction.

The students also had the distinct pleasure of having dinner with Fabio Tosolin, the recipient of the International Dissemination of Behavior Analysis award, and his team of international consultants.
