Several IOHRM Students Present at Appalachian Research in Business Symposium

On March 31, 2017, several IOHRM graduate students presented at the Appalachian Research in Business Symposium (ARBS) The symposium consisted of more than 100 business faculty members and students from Appalachian, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Tennessee State University and Western Carolina. Both first year and second year IOHRM students (along with psychology undergraduates) presented on various research projects that they have been working on throughout the year. These projects included: examining job seekers' reactions to an organization's use of social media screening; understanding the language of a convict: an analysis of social media; displaying corporate social responsibility: how online platforms affect perceptions of organizations; and using analytics to assess the effectiveness of enrollment factors in predicting math/performance. Overall, it was a rewarding experience for the students to present on their projects and learn from other business-related presentations at the symposium.
