Second Year IOHRM Student, Emily Mazza, Accepts Job Offer at Amazon

Recently, Emily Mazza, a second year IOHRM student, has accepted a job at Amazon as a Senior Human Resources Assistant. Specifically, Emily will be located in San Antonio, Texas, where she will be a part of launching a brand new fulfillment center. Amazon fulfillment centers are involved with recording, sorting, packaging, and delivering inventory. Some centers have a high number of associates and teams involved with locating and packaging inventory, whereas others have smaller teams involved with timeliness of deliveries. However, all centers need a human resources team to manage employees and day-to-day operations, which Emily will get to be a part of.

As a Senior Human Resource Assistant, Emily will gain experience in a wide variety of areas. For example, she will be involved in recruitment and selection, managing on-site transfers, promotions, selection, and on boarding. Her role will also include data analytics, producing reports to assist with labor planning and management. Finally, Emily will also be involved in employee relations, in which she will promote positive employee relations through survey management, roundtable facilitations, and employee recognition projects.

Above all, Emily has expressed that she is most excited to be a part of Amazon’s culture of innovation and strategic thinking, as Amazon employees are constantly encouraged to continuously learn and challenge ideas that will lead to improvements. She also mentions that this is the ideal environment and culture in which she wants to start her career.

Congratulations Emily!
