Representatives of the Psychology Department’s HR Science Research Safety Team, including second-year IOHRM students Maira Compagnone and Tara O’Neil, undergraduate student Rachel Bellflowers, and IOHRM faculty member Dr. Shawn Bergman, traveled to Gastonia, NC to meet with leadership, managers, and safety coordinators from Elevate Textiles to discuss a new applied data analytics project. The team was able to collaborate with Elevate Textiles to identify opportunities to improve training, communication, culture, and safety, identify variables and data availability, and formulate questions that can be answered through data analytics. At the closure of the meeting, several safety coordinators took the team on a tour of their two on-site plant facilities. The entire research team is excited about this new opportunity to work with a local company!
