IOHRM Goes to SBSI Conference

This Wednesday, February 13th, 2 IOHRM faculty and 12 IOHRM students attended the Sustainable Business and Social Impact Conference at Duke University. This conference is hosted every year by the Fuqua School of Business at Duke and focuses on ways that businesses can improve both the environment and social justice. There, they learned about the many steps private, public, and non-profit organizations are taking today to improve and preserve our planet and the lives of those in need along with discussions about further steps to be taken.Notable speakers included Matt Kopec, Sustainable Business and Innovation Manager for Burt’s Bees, and Paulette Frank, Vice President of Worldwide Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability at Johnson & Johnson. This conference has grown to be one of the largest on the East Coast and we were honored to attend! We fully support these efforts and hope these new ideas can be put into place soon!
