The IOHRM program was excited to welcome 11 accepted students to campus last Friday for our annual Accepted Students Day. This event was fully planned by Sydney Steelman and Delaney Clark, with the help of all of the current first-years! The event provided an opportunity for accepted students to experience the program firsthand, connect with faculty and current students, and get a feel for the collaborative and supportive culture that defines IOHRM.
Throughout the day, attendees participated in a faculty and student panel, where they gained valuable insight into the academic experience, research opportunities, and professional development available within the program. Students also enjoyed lunch from Mellow Mushroom while continuing conversations with faculty and current students.
In addition, accepted students had the chance to tour the campus and learn more about the resources available at App State. A highlight of the day was a virtual session with Ryan Felty, an IOHRM alumnus and member of our Professional Board. Ryan shared his experiences in the program, discussed the impact of the Professional Foundation, and answered thoughtful questions from attendees.
The day concluded with a social gathering at SouthEnd Brewing, where accepted students, faculty, and current students had the opportunity to connect and build relationships at one of the program’s favorite hangout spots!
We truly enjoyed meeting our accepted students and sharing what makes the IOHRM program so special. We look forward to welcoming many of them back to campus in the fall!
