First Year Student, Hannah Booth, Accepts Internship with Shurtape

Congratulations to IOHRM student Hannah Booth for accepting an internship with Shurtape Technologies LLC, a privately owned company located in Hickory, NC that produces tape for local and international businesses. Their markets range from painting, packaging, HVAC to transportation. Shurtape prides itself of customer and craftsmen relations as well as high quality standards. Shurtape Technologies was born in Hickory out of the Shuford Mills textile manufacturing plant. They quickly outgrew the small space and moved into a large factory in Hudson, North Carolina. They recently opened a new state-of-the-art plant in Hickory, and acquired a facility in Singapore. They continue to reach international markets with 12 world-wide manufacturing and distribution centers.

Hannah will be participating in a 10-week internship in Shurtape's Talent Development sector. Her internship will consist of five main projects. She will develop training materials for sales and marketing departments, assist in the enhancement of their current Leadership Development program, and assist in the redevelopment of their performance management process. She will also be assisting in the implementation of a succession planning system by creating a competency model for key roles in various departments. Her final project will involve assessing the organization for other development needs during her time there.
