2nd Year IOHRM Students Present on Summer Internships

As a part of the IOHRM program curriculum, all students must have an internship within the field of Human Resources the summer in between their first and second years. Upon completion of these internships, students were given the opportunity to present their projects and major takeaways from their internships in front of the first year students and IOHRM faculty. Every internship was distinct from one another and included a wide range of responsibilities, such as recruitment, performance management, training, data analytics, employment law compliance, and even event planning.

Lorin Farr and Nkem Obi-Melekwe are two of the 2nd year IOHRM students that shared their experiences from their internships this past Friday. Lorin worked for HD Supply in Atlanta, Georgia for 12 weeks where her projects focused on compliance related to pay history and minimum wage laws, in addition to upgrading the applicant tracking process to rival their competitors. Nkem worked for NPR (National Public Radio) in Washington, D.C. for 14 weeks where his projects focused on talent acquisition for music-related roles and developing branding strategies for the NPR Career website. Congratulations to Lorin, Nkem, and the rest of the 2nd year IOHRM students on a wonderful day of presentations!
