Second Year Student, Bridget Wasowski, Presents at NCWorks Conference

On October 7th, 2nd-year IOHRM student Bridget Wasowski gave a presentation titled Using Analytics to Identify Patterns in Client Services at the NCWorks Conference in Greensboro, NC. Accompanied by Dr. Shawn Bergman and members of the High Country Workforce Development Board (HCWDB), Bridget explained how the use of analytics can be beneficial to organizations and help them reach many of their business goals. Specifically, the presentation discussed specific analytics results from the HCWDB services, including client demographics and the most popular services that were rendered by the organization. The audience, which consisted of many NC Workforce Development and Department of Commerce employees, also received a demonstration of how predictive and diagnostic analytics dashboards can help them solve some of the more complex problems that they are facing.

When asked about the importance of giving this type of presentation, Bridget explained that the HCWDB and NCWorks have tons of data at their disposal, but aren’t always sure how to analyze it in an effective manner. However, following Bridget’s presentation, these organizations now have the tools they need to increase the number of positive employment outcomes for their customers.
