First-year IOHRM student Cody Rusher recently accepted a summer human resources internship with ATI Specialty Materials, located in Monroe, North Carolina. ATI is one of the largest and most diversified specialty metals producers in the world and has approximately 9,600 full-time employees worldwide.
At ATI, employees use innovative technologies to offer global markets a wide range of specialty metals solutions. ATI's major markets include aerospace and defense, oil and gas/chemical process industry, electrical energy, medical, automotive, food equipment and appliance, and construction and mining.
One of Cody's primary projects will involve developing creative methods to better gauge employee satisfaction at ATI. In addition, Cody will be assisting the HR team as they transition to an electronically-based management system. Cody will also serve as the point-of-contact for all other interns at ATI, overseeing their projects and assisting with performance reviews.
