Second-Year Students Continue to Develop Professionally with the Help of Our Advisory Board

On Friday, January 30th, the IOHRM second-years attended a professional development workshop organized by the Advisory Board to develop interviewing skills. Bank of America graciously hosted the workshop, which ran smoothly thanks to the very hard work of Advisory Board member Chanel Leitch (Bank of America), David Battle (Bank of America), Allison Byrd (IOHRM Alumni 2014), and current first-year student Jessica New, as well as the rest of the Advisory Board.

The morning began with a panel discussion on interviewing tips and advice from Jason Mock (Bank of America), Dan Murphy (Bank of America), and moderated by Tim Bailey (IOHRM Advisory Board Chairperson). Following the panel discussion, each student was given the opportunity to go through a practice interview with 1-2 members of the Advisory Board and receive feedback.

Second-year students Holly Brugger, Matt Cartabuke, Heather Holden, Kristen Kaufman, and Danielle Kretschmer were all selected by the board members for their exemplary interview skills and went through a second round of interviews with a new group of board members. After the second round, Heather Holden was selected as the winner for the competition, with second place going to Matt Cartabuke. All students and board members gathered back together to receive a final round of feedback from the board members.

Students would like to again extend their gratitude to the board members for all their hard work and dedication to our continued growth and professional development.
